Moonwalk Rentals Atlanta: Jennifer Love Hewitt’s Message to Moms

 In The Red Carpet

Moonwalk Rentals Atlanta: Jennifer Love Hewitt is back in the spotlight after hiding at home with baby Autumn. The actress, who became afirst-time mom on November 26, 2013, has opened up to Ellen DeGeneres about all the changes her body has gone through in the past year.

Referring to her previous appearance on the talk show in April 2013, the wife of Brian Hallisay explained, “I was already pregnant and I couldn’t tell anybody. The wardrobe [department] put me in this dress and I had to be just like, ‘Oh, awesome. This looks great.’ And [my boobs] were like up here and I came out and all I saw was your face and you were like, ‘Hey!’ And then [guest co-host Matthew Perry] was like, ‘hi,’ and I was like, ‘Hello!’”

Since giving birth to the “fantastic” Autumn James Hallisay, Jennifer Love Hewitt has been intentionally taking it easy on herself regarding losing the baby weight.

Speaking to E! News, the 35-year-old actress, who is pictured here on April 1 at the launch party for her new A Pea in the Pod maternity clothing line, shared, “It just feels great to sort of be honest about the fact that it is tough and these clothes make it a little easier, make me feel beautiful. I’m still in a lot of my pregnancy clothes and there is just where I feel good right now.”

“If your priorities are right, the baby’s most important. You have to eat to feed to your baby. And I have a girl so I want her to see some day why her mom has good self-esteem and good body issues. It gets you down sometimes, I’m not going to lie. I’ve had days where I’m like, ‘Ugh, I wish this was easier.’ But it’s not, and that’s OK.”

Sharing an attitude I think is noteworthy, Jennifer went on to say that during pregnancy, when thinking about the pressure to be thin just after giving birth like other celebrity moms have managed, “I wasn’t sure where I was going to fall and what was going to happen and how I was going to feel.”

I like that attitude, appreciate it leaves room for whatever may come to pass. Often, those of us who had a hard time losing weight after giving birth find it all too easy to get frustrated with those who did so with little or no effort, and I try and be mindful that their experiences are no less important.

One time, sitting with both my own mom and my mother-in-law, we got to talking about leaving the hospital post-baby. While my mom commiserated with my struggle to even get my heavily swollen feet into my slippers — forget the notion of putting on real pants and pass the pajamas — my mother-in-law pointed out she zipped right into her pre-pregnancy jeans right after delivering each of her three babies. My mom’s jaw dropped a little bit.

For the record, they’re both fairly thin women and always have been. I guess you just never know how that particular cookie is going to crumble.
